Whatever its age, your machine can make a strong new start.
At AKWA Technic, we assess machines regardless of brand, model or year of manufacture. Where technically appropriate, we renew mechanical, electrical, control and welding systems together. Our aim is to bring the machine closer to its original operating condition and meet today’s production needs.
Retrofitting means assessing and renewing the systems a working machine needs, then adapting it to current production conditions. Worn mechanical parts, ageing electrical components and outdated controls can affect performance. We assess which sound parts can be retained and agree on the work required.
Age alone does not rule out a retrofit. The condition of the frame and systems, parts availability and target performance determine what is feasible.
BEFORE AND AFTER
The same machine, a renewed operating foundation
01 Mechanical structure and welding equipment
Before renewal
On an older machine, paint, electrodes, current-carrying surfaces, hoses and controls may be worn. This alone does not make it unusable; a technical inspection is needed.
After renewal
We refurbish the parts of the frame suitable for reuse, replace the necessary electrodes and connections, and update the controls to suit production. Operation and welding are tested at the end.
02 Electrical cabinet and automation
Before renewal
Older controls and a limited operator interface may be present. Wiring, component condition and safety arrangements are evaluated.
After renewal
We arrange suitable components and cabinet layout, and update software and the operator panel as required. Functions are checked during commissioning.
These comparisons use illustrative scenes created to explain the retrofit process. They are not documentary before-and-after photos of a customer machine or a completed AKWA project.
A comprehensive renewal tailored to the machine
Mechanical structure
Inspecting, repairing or replacing the frame, moving parts, connections, fixtures and worn components.
Electrical and automation
Renewing the cabinet, wiring, sensors, PLC, operator panel and controls as needed.
Welding system
Reviewing welding controls, electrodes, current-carrying components and related equipment.
Pneumatics and cooling
Maintaining or renewing cylinders, valves, air lines and water cooling according to their condition.
Safety and operation
Reviewing guards, emergency stops and operation in light of a current risk assessment.
Testing and commissioning
Verifying functions, welding and production trials before handover.
The work differs for each machine. Technical scope, required parts and achievable goals are defined after inspection.
Assess your existing machine before investing in a new one
For suitable machines, a retrofit can extend useful life and improve operating stability. Updated controls may make operation easier; renewed mechanical and electrical systems may reduce the causes of unplanned downtime. Results depend on the machine’s original condition and agreed scope.
How we work
01
Initial details
We receive photos, make and model, current faults and production goals.
02
Technical inspection
We assess the frame, mechanics, electrical systems and controls.
03
Retrofit scope
We define what to retain, repair or replace and agree on performance targets and a work plan.
04
Renewal
We carry out the agreed mechanical, electrical, automation and welding work.
05
Testing and handover
We test functions and applications, review results and commission the machine.
